Nash skateboards from the 80s

Who remembers Nash skateboards from the 80s?  They were full of florescent colors and wild designs.  I know about them because I never got one!  Hmmf!  My friends had Nash skateboards and I got a different generic brand so I didn’t feel like I could fit in properly.  I always admired their skateboards though.

Vintage Nash skateboards of the 80s would ride smooth.   I remember the clunky sound they made as they passed over the lines of the concrete slabs as we would ride down the sidewalk.  They were quite easy to steer on and seemed to go fast and steady.  They were also well protected with skid pads on the front, underneath on the sides, and a nice big one on the back for when you brake.  The top of the skateboard had black grip tape to prevent slipping.

The florescent designs always had a cool picture on the underside like a dragon or skeleton.  It was totally 80s looking.  I loved them.

Nash’s manufacturing plant was located in Fort Worth, TX but in 2006 there was a fire that destroyed the facility.
